Preparation and reconciliation matter as much as collecting readings.
Before you arrive
Confirm permission to enter the building and collect network observations. Ask which rooms matter, when the symptoms happen and whether any areas are restricted. Obtain a floor plan that matches the current layout rather than assuming a construction drawing is still accurate.
Charge the Android device and confirm that your account can open the intended assignment. Check that the correct floor is available and its scale is set. Open the survey while connected so the floor and draft information are available if connectivity later drops.
Before the first point
Check Wi-Fi and the permissions requested by the app. Decide whether geographic coordinates are appropriate; indoor floor position and GPS are different kinds of data. Do not turn on optional location collection simply because the phone requires a permission for Wi-Fi scanning.
Record your route outside the app if you need extra field notes. Note moved furniture, closed doors or temporary obstructions that may explain a later difference. Choose a reference point so you can compare conditions near the beginning and end of the visit.
During the walkthrough
Stand at the point you select on the floor. Wait for an available fresh reading, capture, and verify that the point appears. Inspect the point count periodically instead of discovering a missing section of the route at the exit.
If a plan limit or permission warning appears, resolve that condition before continuing. Repeated taps are not a substitute for understanding the message. Keep unsynced work on the device and avoid uninstalling the application as a troubleshooting step.
Before handing over
Confirm that all intended points were acknowledged by the server and the survey is complete. Open the report and check the floor, scope and location options. A file download alone does not prove that the report contains the visit you intended to share.
Give the recipient a short statement of purpose, the main observation and the proposed next action. Keep private floor plans and network identifiers within the authorized team. For a follow-up visit, retain the route and source floor so another person can repeat it.
Take it into the field
- Confirm scope, access and floor version.
- Open the assignment online before going offline.
- Check point counts during the route.
- Reconcile synced points and inspect the exported report.
Put your next survey on the map.
