The key idea

Offline capture is a workflow to prepare and verify, not a reason to skip synchronization checks.

Prepare while connected

Sign in with the account that will perform the survey and open the intended assignment while the service is reachable. Confirm that the floor image and draft information are loaded before entering a place with unreliable connectivity.

Do not assume that seeing a project name means every resource needed for a survey has been downloaded. Open the actual floor and inspect it. A new assignment or a floor revision may require a fresh online visit before it is available locally.

Know what is saved locally

When a point is saved to the device queue, it has not necessarily been acknowledged by the server. Keep track of pending points and the displayed synchronization state. Treat local capture and server upload as separate steps in the journey.

Wi-Fi Master Planner encrypts account-specific offline records. Use the same account to recover that work. Signing into another account is not a way to transfer pending survey ownership or bypass a permission problem.

Preserve the device during recovery

If the connection drops, keep the application installed and retain its local data. Avoid clearing storage or uninstalling as an early troubleshooting action: those actions can remove the copy you are trying to recover.

A session-expired message is also different from a network outage. Reauthenticate when required rather than expecting the app to treat revoked access as an offline session. Once access and connectivity are restored, reopen the assignment and inspect its recovered state.

Reconcile before finishing

Run synchronization and confirm that pending points are acknowledged. Recheck the sequence and total count, then complete the survey. Open the web view or report to ensure it contains the expected observations.

If a point is permanently rejected, read the reason before discarding it. A deliberate discard removes local pending work; it should be used only when you understand what cannot be recovered. Preserve an explanation in the field handover if the final survey has a gap.

Take it into the field

  • Open the actual assignment and floor online first.
  • Distinguish saved locally from uploaded.
  • Keep the app and its storage intact during recovery.
  • Confirm counts and completion after reconnecting.
